The World Energy Council (WEC) is the world's first multi-energy organization. The Council has member committees in nearly 100 countries, including most of the major energy producing and consuming countries, in addition it covers under its umbrella all kind of energy including nuclear, water and renewables.
The organization has a coordinating Secretariat in London, United Kingdom, under the direction of the Secretary General who reports to the Officer's Council, under the leadership of an elected Chair.
The World Energy Council is governed by Standing Committees: Programme, Studies, Communications and Strategy, Finance, Nomination and Renumeration. The committees meet two to three times a year and report to Members. These Standing Committees are responsible for carrying out the Council’s work programmes.
